Deloitte Consulting's Project Controller Practice is comprised of clientservice professionals specializing in account and engagement economics, riskmitigation, profitability optimization and compliance services throughout thefull project lifecycle, from the pursuit phase through project closeout.Project Controllers support client engagement team(s) by assisting with initiatingand controlling financial and organizational aspects of projects. During thisexciting learning experience, you ll work side-by-side with your PC team eitherin the office or at the client site to provide valuable deliverables to theproject teams, helping to keep the clients project on schedule and withinbudget and scope. You ll also utilize project team communications to understandtheir needs and assist in the formation of business strategies. Work you ll do

As anAcademic Year Internin our Project Controller practice, you'llteam and collaborate with other controllers to help assist Deloitte projectmanagers in maintaining compliance with clients policies, perform internalfinancial analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost varianceanalysis in addition to managing projects billing and receivables process.You'll also monitor project performance and determine improvement areas byanalyzing key performance indicators. On any given assignment, you may help toimprove internal processes and directly communicate strategies and analyticalresults with your Project Controller team to help keep projects on track andwithin the scope of cost.

The team

Our Project Controller practice helps clients define what they need and how itcan be delivered. Using advanced financial, budgeting, and forecastingtechniques we provide realistic cost estimates that account for projects phases, people, materials, hardware, and software. We produce the best- andworst-case estimates using leading-edge project and client management softwareto help keep clients projects on track and on cost. We manage risk byperforming financial analysis and reconciliations to keep project variances incheck. You will work in a team composed of management, both senior and juniorstaff along with team members in India. This team dynamic provides uniqueperspectives that will enable you to grow as a financial advisor and gain awell-rounded insight into the Project Controller practice.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Pursing a Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management or related area (junior standing)

  • Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.2)

  • Rising college Senior or academic equivalent

  • Availability to work January through April, 16-24 hours/week for 2-3 days over the course of the internship (10-12 weeks)

  • Solid understanding of fundamental accounting and finance principles

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills

  • Ability to work effectively, both independently and as a member of a team

  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to "think outside the box" while identifying problems and developing creative solutions

  • Willingness to travel
