This position is located in Cedar Rapids, IA. A comprehensive relocation package is available for qualified candidates.

We are currently searching for a Software Engineering Student Co-op to join our GNSS Surface Software Team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This person will have the opportunity to help drive innovative design and development for our next generation Navigation Products, while training alongside influential industry experts in the field of satellite Navigation. Relocation to Cedar Rapids is required.
This Student Co-op will be a part of a cross-functional team responsible for designing, developing, and testing current and future generations of hand-held and embedded GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver software.
This position offers abundant opportunities for a new engineer to gain in-depth knowledge of GPS technology and receiver architecture, and to grow that knowledge in a team environment as we work to continuously improve our GPS receiver performance.
Must be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. US Citizenship is required without dual citizenship.
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
The successful candidate should have experience or coursework in software engineering, should have a solid understanding of software development methodologies, and should have experience and coursework in at least one software language. Candidates must either possess or be able to obtain a secret level government clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Candidates' citizenship must be solely with the U.S. Candidates can not have simultaneous dual citizenship with any other country.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to perform in all phases of the software engineering life cycle including requirements analysis, software design, software implementation, software integration and test, and software documentation. Candidates should be knowledgeable and skilled with a variety of software development environments and test tools.
Experience with Microsoft Office and the Integrated Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) products is desirable. Proficiency in software development using Model Based Development, Ada, C/C++, C#, Jovial, or other higher order language in an embedded application environment is also desirable. Experience with Linux kernel development, Linux device drivers, or the creation of software applications using Qt is desirable. Experience with Agile software development, Information Assurance, and Software Assurance is desirable.
