Neuberger Berman Summer Portfolio Analyst – Fixed Income in Chicago, Illinois
We are seeking highly motivated individuals to work within our Fixed Income business, which manages approximately $90 billion of client assets across investment grade and non-investment grade strategies. As a summer intern, the individual would work with the trading desk and the portfolio construction team. The summer intern will have immediate and direct exposure to virtually all aspects of the team’s investment strategies. The internship presents a unique opportunity to work directly on portfolio management in a team-oriented, fast-paced, and highly dynamic environment.
Evaluate security characteristics to assist in portfolio construction
Statistical and financial modeling and possible in-depth analysis on specific macroeconomic factors
Help to efficiently manage order flow on the trading desk
Analyze data to ensure quality and consistency of information
Review client presentations, portfolio summary reports, and data requests for accuracy
Monitor portfolios to ensure they are aligned with portfolio manager conviction and research analyst opinion
Assist with performance attribution, trading analysis and risk measurement
Superb academic credentials in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics or related field. Minimum GPA of 3.5.
Dec 2018 or Spring 2019 grads only
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with an attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Aptitude for quickly learning new information systems
Experience using Excel and database tools
Sound understanding of statistics and regression, including statistical packages and/or programming languages (e.g., R, MATLAB, VBA)
Strong mathematical skills
Highly motivated with a passion for investing, particularly in the idea generation process and trade execution
