This position is for an engineering intern that will provide engineering support in the Nuclear Engineering Mechanical Analysis group. The intern will perform engineering calculations, analysis, research and design. Under direction of supervisor or work leader, interns will:
Perform routine assignments designed to develop professional engineering work knowledge.
Gain familiarity with techniques, approaches, practices and the nature of engineering systems, equipment, etc.
Develop the ability to apply fundamental engineering principles and techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out sequence of related engineering tasks.
Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Must be a Sophomore or Junior with an anticipated graduation date between December 2018 and May 2020 attending an ABET accredited Nuclear Engineering or Mechanical Engineering program at a four year college or university.
Candidates must possess a strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.
Candidates must have good communication skills, problem resolution skills, and computer skills.
Knowledge of programming and analysis is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office products is desired. Proficiency in MS Excel with Macros is preferred.
Must be able to follow instructions and be a team player.
Must be a current Sophomore or Junior with an anticipated graduation date between December 2018 and May 2020 attending an ABET accredited Nuclear Engineering or Mechanical Engineering program at a four year college or university.
Must have a 3.2 or greater GPA
