This position is located in the Caterpillar Oil and Gas team at our Lafayette Engine center in Lafayette, Indiana. In completing this assignment, the successful candidate will gain exposure to:
Specific product insight of Caterpillar's reciprocating engines, transmissions, gas compression and well service pumping products
Expanded project management capabilities
Expanded experience in collaboration and team work across multiple functional disciplines
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: evaluating customer technical requirements/proposing standard pricelist and custom solutions for power needs, providing technical information for segments of gas compression, land drilling, offshore drilling and well segments and working with a blend of technical sales, computer science and marketing topics.

-Must be enrolled as a Full-Time student at an accredited 4-year university pursuing a degree in: Engineering/Technology or related degree.
Minimum Cumulative GPA: 3.0/4.0 scale (no rounding)
Applicant must be able to work at the Lafayette, Indiana facility a minimum of 15 - 20 hours per week during the school year as well as 40 hours per week during the summer
Minimum 45 credit hours prior to January 1, 2018
Applicant must be able to complete a daily commute to the Lafayette facility and maintain FT student status.
Top Candidates will also have:
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology degrees
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
Self-motivated, takes initiative and eager to learn, grow and develop
Able to work well on teams and collaborate with others
