This position will serve as a Business Analyst providing support to the LyondellBasell Procurement organization through data analysis, process review and use of problem solving skills in order to make recommendations to support staff and management personnel. The position requires execution within a specific area; however the responsibilities will include exposure to various facets of Procurement including Strategic Sourcing, Operational Buying, Procurement Administration and more. The candidate will be supported by key Procurement staff while functioning on an independent basis.
Leads and participates on Procurement special projects and SAP system improvements
Maintains intermediate to advanced knowledge of system support tools such as SAP, E-sourcing, Business Intelligence and assists suppliers and internal customers in full utilization of these system tools
Operates with a high degree of knowledge regarding suppliers, products, services, manufacturing, and industry trends
Attends & participates in training in the different areas as specified in the program
Demonstrates the ability to work well in an analytical role or in a team environment
Minimum Education Requirements: must be working towards or have obtained a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or an equivalent degree from an accredited university
Overall GPA of 3.0 or greater
The Sourcing Specialist will ensure that LyondellBasell benefits from negotiated agreements for the purchase of goods and services. This position will be responsible and accountable for contract compliance and issue resolution related to proactive price/rate management.
It is critical that this individual is capable of developing complex analysis in support of the creation and implementation of procurement strategies for segments required to support company operations. These segments are less complex, narrower in focus and tend to be more transparent markets than those led by the Category Managers. The Sourcing Specialist’s primary responsibility will be to eliminate risk exposure via supply market analysis and contract management practices.
Ensures accurate definition of requirements, negotiates contracts, establishes and maintains compliance with LyondellBasell control guidelines
Manage the contract administration process inclusive of supplier set-up and pricing maintenance
Negotiates strategic sourcing agreements and any changes in supplier contracts
Analyze proposed contract changes and provide recommendations to assure effectiveness
Develops and composes bid specifications in such a manner that internal customer needs are addressed
Analyzes bid responses to determine the most responsive and responsible bidder to optimize total cost of ownership for the internal client
Analyzes spend data to identify and develop overall strategic sourcing initiatives which meet the needs of the customer
Works collaboratively with the Category Manager and the Field Buying organization for implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or an equivalent degree from an accredited university
Overall GPA of 3.0 or greater
Excellent communication, customer service, interpersonal, and organization skills
Broad technology skills, including SAP, spreadsheet, database, graphics, statistical forecasting and modeling
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status
