Overview Operations Interns are considered to be an integral part of the Operations Team and are provided with tasks that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating. Under guidance of the Operations VP and Operations Management Team, the program participate will be assigned to teams associated with ongoing production projects and continuous improvement. This internship will run from May 2018 to August 2018 (Summer Semester). Responsibilities Assist team in identifying process improvements Learn operational processes and procedures Create flow charts and spreadsheets in support of staff projects Provide engineering support assistance for quality issues as required Perform operational studies and engineering analysis (Time Study, Capacity, Cost, etc.) Assist Lean manufacturing / Six Sigma training and Continuous improvement implementation Analyze and evaluate manufacturing methods and standards. Provide solution to problems that adversely affect operator safety, quality, productivity, and cost. Work with cross-functional teams consisting of staff from Operations, Quality, Technical, Engineering, and Supply Chain Requirements Completed two years in engineering, manufacturing, or chemistry related degree Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be detail oriented and possess excellent follow up skills Working knowledge of computer application software (training will be provided if needed) Must be flexible and able to work overtime when required Must be organized and work well with constant priority changes Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to effectively work with employees at all levels within the organization and external customers, suppliers and vendors Physical work environment is typically indoors at a consistent temperature and occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
