Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Bayer University Engagement Procurement Masters Summer Internship, are to:

  • Learn the responsibilities and requirements of Sourcing, Purchasing and Strategy & Governance (Functional Leadership);

  • Act as Customer Service support between Contract to Pay, Direct Sourcing, Indirect Sourcing and the People & Knowledge function within Functional Leadership;

  • Work with their U.S. Procurement Site Manager as well as People & Knowledge to identify a primary Procurement project to focus on during the course of their internship;

  • Actively participate in weekly brainstorming sessions, Site Procurement Team and Functional Leadership team meetings;

  • Act as a liaison between Bayer U.S. Procurement and third party external organizations to identify new training programs that could be implemented;

  • Support the Global Sustainability and Supplier Diversity Initiatives;

  • Support requests for SharePoint enhancement or redesign;

  • Contribute to the Procurement Communication Strategy and monthly Procurement News articles;

  • Work with a Sourcing Manager on an on-going project in order to further learn sourcing methodologies commonly used within Bayer and then taking the lead on project tasks and deliverables;

  • Conduct stakeholder interviews to identify improvement opportunities;

  • Write weekly news articles on stakeholder interviews that focus on Procurement projects in order to increase awareness of the work being performed in the US PRO Organization across sites;

  • Document the internship experience through video blogs (optional).

Required Qualifications:

  • Current first year Masters student with a focus in Supply Chain, Procurement or a Business related field of study;

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Knowledge of General Procurement Processes and Procedures;

  • U.S. Citizenship/Permanent Resident Status (sponsorship not provided).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management and Change Management experience;

  • GPA of 3.0.
