Komatsu America Corp. has a great internship opportunity for a Business Administration or Finance college student in Junior or Senior standing. This intern will be immersed in an intense, highly structured learning environment where the candidate can assimilate to the Komatsu culture and make an important contribution during a targeted 12 week internship. This internship is intended to identify future high potential Komatsu employees. 1. Learning: Master Komatsu culture (Komatsu Way, Hansei, Kaizen, Hou-Ren-Sou, PDCA and Brand Management) and business model as demonstrated by completing and presenting a professional proposal for improvement.2. Complete a Komatsu Financial Rotation to include gaining exposure to the following functions but not limited to:Retail Applications – Daily processing of new Retail credit applications – consists of funding, set up and booking the contract in KF system. Determines and verifies required documents for contract type. Reconciles contract information and terms to approved program terms, following up to correct discrepancies. Researches machine/attachment balances on KF books before proceeds are sent to distributor.Finance Sales - Retail and lease credit extension in North America and Canada for Komatsu America Corp. (“KAC”) and defined transactions for Komatsu Forklift and Komatsu America Industries LLC (Press Technology). Reviews all documents on both leases and conditional sales contracts for accuracy to ensure Komatsu Financial has a first lien position on financed or leased goods. Promote the use of Komatsu Financial (KF) products and services with distributors and Komatsu Marketing Groups. Cash Processing – Daily processing of retail customer payment applicationsAuditing/Collections - Floor plan audit practices and procedures. Including, but not limited to, the initial performance of the floorplan audits and any and all follow up necessary to insure that the investment of KF is protected. In addition, they will be responsible for the minimization of risk of loss and the protection of KF interests in the retail portfolio associated in the assigned territory. In this capacity, the Finance Representative will be responsible for the personal visits with retail customer to resolve delinquent accounts.Leasing - All aspects of the lease origination and termination process and programsInternational - Analyze distributors' open account/floor plan. Determine and explain status of debits, credits, and balances considering terms, discounts, and related factors.
- Education: Must be at least in Junior standing at an accredited college/university. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0+ and be able to apply their academic background to real business world experiences.2. Experience: Prior experience with work study programs, school or volunteer leadership roles, participated on teams or in clubs, professional organizations, etc. preferred.3. Soft Skills: Must have Excellent written and verbal communications. Ability to multi-task, manage multiple deadlines and work and thrive in a fast paced environment, ability to handle pressure. Strong motivation to make contributions to Komatsu and strong motivation to drive results. This intern must have an interest in capital goods / heavy equipment in the construction and mining industry.4. PC Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically with Pivot Tables, Vlook ups and other reporting tools. Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills. 5. Travel: This travel may require some travel.
