Northrop Grumman is seeking Software Engineering Interns for Summer 2018 internship opportunities. This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in San Diego, CA .

Roles and Responsibilities

We are a leading global security company providing innovative systems, products and solutions in unmanned systems, cyber, C4ISR, and logistics and modernization to government and commercial customers worldwide.

The Mission Systems/C4ISR/Communications team focuses on key flight communications for programs like the F22 and F35. Our Engineering Infrastructure team is a key component in supporting all engineering development teams and driving efficient process improvement. We are seeking a motivated software developer, skilled in web application development using current designs, tools, and tech. The team is responsible for the entire development stack, from server configuration to front end GUIs. We are a small agile team that works closely with our customers to create sustainable custom solutions.

Your primary responsibility is supporting developers in creating and maintaining web based applications used by multiple programs across the organization. You may be responsible for coding, database queries, and interface design as well as gathering requirements and issue resolutions.

Basic Qualifications

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college or university

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile

  • Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2018

  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous demonstrated internship or project work with coding (Perl, Java, and/or C#)

  • Previous internship or demonstrated project work with database development (Oracle and/or PostgreSQL)

  • Previous demonstrated project work of web development (HTML, JavaScript and/or CSS)
