General information: Our Business Technology Interns are part of Securian's College Intern Program. These internships are available to college students who are enrolled in a technical program and are on track to graduate in December 2017 or Spring 2018. Our Business Technology interns are placed in one of the Business Technology areas within Securian Financial Group. These positions promote and support the effective use of technology to achieve successful results for our clients, distribution partners and Securian associates. These internships are designed to provide work experience and business exposure to Quality Assurance and Business Analyst careers within Securian. We will only be pursuing candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States. We will not be pursuing candidates where Visa sponsorship is needed. What you would do in this job: Business Technology job responsibilities vary by role and include the following: 1. Planning, defining requirements and analyzing business needs to implement project and system changes. 2. Collaborating with Information Technology and different business areas to define needs and design solutions. 3. Ensuring quality, consistency and usability for Securian's systems. 4. Providing testing functions, requirements, discovery and analysis services for new development and system changes. What we'd expect from you: 1. A successful track record in a 4 year technical college program. 2. Strong technical aptitude to interpret business requirements and system documentation and to effectively handle the testing process. 3. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate results. 4. Strong written and verbal communication skills. 5. Strong interpersonal skills to participate on project teams and actively participate in project and testing meetings.
