The employee communications intern will help with various HR and general employee communications projects, such as improving Backstage, primarily focusing on our key priorities – strategy and culture, future of work, cloud, security and ELT visibility.

  • Catalogue 2017 communications – use as a baseline to compare YoY communications results and output.

  • Research tactics and best practices – use CEB, ROI, etc. to help us find trends, best practices, and success stories from other companies.

  • Backstage newsletter – compile news, events and buttons from Backstage to set up the weekly newsletter in PoliteMail and schedule send it to all employees

  • Slack case studies and creative promotion – Brainstorm and create news stories, slide decks, 1-pagers, etc. He or she will provide real-life examples of how different teams are using Slack, and think of other creative ways to help other employees get on board and get the most out of Slack.

  • Competencies & Values promotion – Brainstorm and implement tactics that will help communicate our competencies and values, through Backstage news, small communication campaigns, etc.

  • Backstage page refresh – rethink and design some key HR pages on Backstage, including the Training & Education, Well-Being, Diversity & Inclusion, and Corporate Citizenship pages (this will tie into Performance, Development and Rewards, especially in the Training & Education pages).

  • Create monthly poll question for Backstage – based on key priorities for the year, he or she will create 6 poll questions for the remaining months of 2017

  • Evergreen news articles – create a 3-5 news articles about key themes that are not time constrained, to be used whenever we are short on our stories in 2018.

Requirements:

  • Must have demonstrated excellent academic achievement and good communication skills.

  • Must be flexible, dependable, and capable of quickly learning new technologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and apply problem-solving skills to business and technical challenges.

  • Positive customer service attitude.

  • Possess strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to give and receive constructive feedback, ability to interact and partner with people at all levels and locations

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
