Job Description

At our office in The Netherlands, home to around 80 employees, we offer a welcoming and collegial atmosphere where ethics and integrity are highly valued. You will notice the creative and innovative drive of our people, which has formed the basis of our success throughout the years. 12 month placements are currently available in IT, Human Resources, Supply Chain & Logistics, Global Procurement, and Finance Licensing starting in July 2018. Supply Chain & Logistics Intern The Supply Chain & Logistics Intern has the opportunity to work with international countries, independent projects, and working alongside the Logistics team in our Amstelveen office.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, maintain and communicate reports for decision making purposes for the Supply Chain Europe,
  • Participation in European projects regarding optimising or tendering services,
  • Work closely with the team to create monthly, quartelry and yearly financial reports.
  • Assist with the ad hoc projects and requests.
  • Control, maintain and gradually develop the invoice checking system for the supply chain transport and warehousing invoices,
  • Owner of the coordination and approval of the air-freight shipments and company internal transfers,
  • First contact person for solving any arising issues/disputes with the carriers and suppliers (invoicing discrepancies, arguable charges, etc.)
  • Work closely with the European Distribution Centres, assisting with finance and shipping related queries,

Experience, Education & Skills

What we are looking for: This placement is undertaken in the third year of a four-year course and you will need to apply in your second year. Candidates will be studying a business related degree, ideally with Computing or IT modules, predicted a minimum grade of 2:1.

We are looking for a resilient, driven, problem solver with a strong analytical mind-set. You must have excellent organizational skills, with the ability to think quickly and logically. You must be a good communicator both in writing and verbally, with excellent computer skills (especially in Microsoft Excel). Some knowledge of Microsoft Access would be beneficial, and it is essential to be fluent in spoken and written English.
