Company Job ID-430304100A6 TE Connectivity's internship program is designed to provide interns with real world experience to enhance classroom knowledge. Uniquely crafted assignments and meaningful projects provide interns with a challenging 10 – 12 week experience. Interns will gain exposure to senior leadership and be given professional development opportunities. At the end of the summer, interns will be provided the opportunity to pursue full-time placement within TE Connectivity. The Application Tooling division of TE Connectivity is seeking a summer intern who has completed his or her junior year of an Electrical Engineering bachelor's degree program or a Mechatronics degree program focusing on electrical/electronic controls. The summer job will involve working under the guidance of an experienced engineer and in concert with other engineers and designers. The intern will be involved in a project to concept, design, and prototype electronic controls and systems related to machinery to apply the terminals and connectors that TE Connectivity produces. The performance of the prototypes will then lead to decisions relative to the viability of the concepts for the market. Responsibilities & Qualifications Duties May Include: Coordinate and consult with engineers to layout, design, and detail electronic and electrical controls and circuits to meet the design objectives or resolve issues. Troubleshooting and conditioning of prototypes during the development process. Working closely with other engineering disciplines and related functions. Perform calculations required for electronic and electrical circuit designs. Design and develop test fixtures and systems that are used within engineering and production to test and validate the operation and performance of machine designs. Participate in project management activities and estimating. Perform or direct others in cable fabrication and other electronic and electrical assembly tasks. Candidates Qualifications: Candidates for consideration should be pursuing a BS/BT in Electrical Engineering and be in good standing with the University. Preference will be given to engineering students between the junior and senior year. Coursework in basic electronic circuits, analog and digital circuit analysis, control theory, power systems, and software programming. A working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or SpaceClaim is desirable, but not required. Have an interest in the design of electronic, electrical, and computer controls as they relate to machines and equipment. Good application skills of Microsoft Office tools, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc. Strong communications, interpersonal, and analytical skills are essential.
