UNC Department of Public Safety Project Coordinator Intern in Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Description of Work

This is a student internship position.

The Project Coordinator assists the School of Medicine IT Project Management Office (PMO) team members with documenting proposed projects, developing status reports, tracking assigned project resources and developing procedures. Throughout the course of the program, you will receive informal feedback, coaching, and mentoring to help prepare you for a professional career.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate and manage the project intake request process for the School of Medicine IT PMO, such as gathering client information, assisting with completion of project intake forms, submitting and tracking new project requests

  • Project Portfolio Management: ensure portfolio list is kept up to date with accurate information, create ad hoc and scheduled reporting

  • Facilitate status reporting: Gather and compile status reporting information from project manager, create bi-weekly and monthly status reporting

  • Assist PM with facilitation of project meetings, updating agenda, and publishing minutes.

  • Modify project schedules as directed and notify project managers of any variances, exceptions and unplanned events
