Urban Science Advanced Analytics Intern - Summer 2018 in Detroit, Michigan
The Advanced Analytics Intern will support the analytics and process needs across Urban Science, which includes participating in analytical projects and assisting with the production of easy-to-understand analysis and recommendations.
Open to co-op and/or full-time summer internship candidates. Interns will work 40 hours a week during a three month long summer internship or 20 to 25 hours a week in a co-op format during school year.
Assist Analytics experts with projects focused on resolving client challenges through the application of data mining, data analysis techniques, process determination, and/or optimization.
Gather and organize requirements, specifications and data for analysis with general supervision regarding methodology and approach.
Participate in data interpretation and analyze alternative solutions, contributing to recommendations for use of the information.
Develop and distribute relevant reports, adhering to client requested specifications, with supervisory guidance.
Assist with development and gathering of supporting documentation, such as charts and graphs, defense of results and supporting case studies.
Support development of repeatable processes for future use derived form completed analysis.
Work toward target deadlines that are in accordance with the project timelines.
Actively support and participate in required Urban Science training programs to achieve targeted development objectives. Work with Learning and Practice teams to transfer knowledge on processes for use in training.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Demonstrate experience with business analytics methodologies, in an internship or collegiate project.
Currently pursuing a Baccalaureate degree in an appropriate technical or analytical field such as Engineering, Statistics, or Data Mining, Business Analytics, or Applied Mathematics from an accredited U.S. college or university or equivalent foreign institution.
