Sanford Health Internship Program aims to provide our interns with challenging, real-world projects specific to their career path. A Supply Chain will contribute to Sanford operations and processes while obtaining first-hand experience that align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Individuals applying for a spring internship must be from within a 100-mile radius of the internship location and must commit to working 20-32 hours per week on-site until the maximum of 384 hours is met or another end date is agreed upon. Shifts are flexible based on your class schedule. Spring internship session start date is January 15, 2018.
Intern will be assigned a major project that will analyze and identify possible ways to reduce inventory that is being sent to the HERO (Healthcare Equipment Recycling Organization) program that could possibly be put back into inventory through tracking and documenting the products, where they come from and is there a better alternative to put the items back into inventory. The goal for this internship is for Sanford Supply Chain to receive valuable information on how to reduce the items being sent to HERO due to lack of education or miscommunication on how to best handle supplies that are not used during the patient tracking process.
Must be a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or similar major but not required or graduate having received one of the previously listed majors. Must have good human relations and communications skills; must be able to follow procedures and instructions given by the leadership staff. Must have strong problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
