The R&D Intern is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to gain experience and responsibility within the R&D department.
Ensure transfer of mechanical testing using digital image correlation developed in SGR to MENH facility for Aerospace coupons.
Develop biaxial mechanical testing to deeply characterize coated fabric material behavior.
Develop aging methods (grease test, outdoor exposure, accelerated aging methods) and characterize mechanical properties before and after to understand damaging mechanisms and enable modeling effort for our product performance in our customer application.
Coordinate fixture machining / acquisition for new testing methods (film bubble, mini-burst, picture shear frame, load duration, environmental chambers).
Develop tribology tests to generate knowledge related to our product design for friction, wear, aging, healing properties.
Develop post-treatment scripts to automatically generate data from tested materials.
Other duties as assigned.

Senior level student pursuing and Undergraduate Degree or student in a Graduate program in Mechanical Engineering or Material Science
Ability to perform mechanical tests and tribological tests
Designing testing fixtures (CAD)
Strong documentation skills
