Uniquely crafted assignments and meaningful projects provide interns with a challenging 10 – 12 week experience. Interns will gain exposure to senior leadership and be given professional development opportunities. The TE Sales Operations Internship (Summer 2018) opportunity is designed to provide participants with project based work to develop the analytic skills of the individual in support of sales and marketing initiatives in support of our Americas team. During the internship, the participant is exposed to a variety of challenging projects and has the opportunity to build a professional network across TE. This position may include projects which expose the intern to elements of Sales (e.g. customer visits, working with Inside Sales team, etc.), Marketing (Technical Marketing, Tradeshows, etc.), Distribution (interface with our Channel partners), and/or Supply Chain (interface with our plants) and will engage with all levels of sales leadership and a variety of functions in support of driving efficiency in a large, dynamic region in the mindset of exciting growth. A key element of success for this role will be the ability to take a number of available, disparate data points and reports, analyze them for commonality, cause & effect, and key business indicators, while succinctly presenting them to the organization for the purpose of influencing behaviors and business decisions. In addition, critical thinking and continuously challenging existing practices to drive impactful business results is expected. Responsibilities & Qualifications Sample Project Areas: Strategic Initiatives (Sales Efficiency, territories, compensation, financial/market modeling, M&A) Process / Operational Excellence (Definition, Governance, Roles and Responsibilities) Sales Enablement (CRM, Sales / Marketing Tools, Reporting / Dashboards, Training) Meeting Customer Demand (Forecast, Customer Programs, Supply Chain / Customer Care Interface) Qualifications: Working towards a Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year accredited university in Business Analytics, Marketing, Finance, Operations, or other related disciplines. Expected graduation between December 2018 and June 2019. Motivated individual able to learn quickly and work in a self-directed work environment with minimal supervision. Prior selling experience (inside or outside) Clear communicator who can summarize, write, speak and present confidently to a diverse audience, including senior management – operating as an internal consultant and thought partner. Ability to work well in a cross-functional environment with regional and global team members. Minimum GPA in major of 3.0. Solid understanding of and the ability to identify the key levers that create commercial business value (i.e. Sales and Marketing) Experience in conducting in-depth market and industry research Strong background in financial analysis, modeling, and evaluation of opportunities (particularly in Excel) Strong presentation skills (PowerPoint, Tableau, etc.) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Competencies Values: Integrity, Accountability,Teamwork, Innovation
