Dewberry has an opportunity for a structural Engineer Intern to join our Telecommunications Group in our Orlando, FL office and participate on the Telecommunications team working with engineers, project managers, and other professionals.
We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, outgoing, and aggressive engineer intern. Job entails directing drafting staff, conducting site visits around Orlando, preparing facility designs with the team, coordinating all design aspects with other departments, tracking the progress of projects, and construction control and inspection. Constant contact and scheduling with clients required. Construction supervision and telecom facilities design experience would be an asset. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is required.
Provide drafting and design services by preparing and maintaining AutoCad 3D/Civil 3D engineering drawings that compile to create a set of permitable plans.
Prepare designs from general instruction and preliminary sketches, diagrams or schematics.
Prepare working drawings from conceptual plan, Development Plan, final engineering documents and construction record drawings.
Coordinate with other team members including engineers, managers, administrative staff and construction staff members.
Requried to be pursuing BS degree in Civil Engineering
GPA of 3.0 or higher, preferred.
Previous internship experience is a plus
Proficiency using AutoCAD is required
Experience using Civil 3D is a plus.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office is required.
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work in a team
Willingness to assist with a wide range of projects and work with multiple project managers.
Strong interest in all phases of Site/Civil Engineering including Telecommunications, Site/Civil, Electrical, Mechanical design and construction documents.
High attention to detail, good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to ask for additional direction and assistance when needed.
