The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a student worker to work with the program staff to develop and implement school year and summer workshops, seminars, classes and activities for high school students; assists with the recruitment process, which includes screening and selecting new participants; advises students on academic issues and college planning, and tracks academic progress; regularly interacts with University faculty and department representatives, public school personnel, program participants and their parents.
• Experience and/or strong interest in working with urban youth, particularly students from groups historically underrepresented in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields • Background or interest in STEM fields is preferred • Must be able to work 10-15 hours per week • Position available for non-Nursing Students only
Child Protection Clearances
The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
Hourly Pay Rate $10.00-$15.00
