Our three-month internship assignments provide compensation based on area of study and class standing, and have the students embedded in key functional areas of our business, getting real-world experience and mentorship from seasoned professionals.*Product Lifecycle Management - In this department the intern will learn about and support the Engineering Change Process and support the analysis and updating of an excel spreadsheets to track the Engineering Change Accomplishment Records for manufacturing incorporations. Support the processing of Subcontractor Data Requirement Lists and preparation and routing of associated emails requesting approvals, archiving documents and updating the database to reflect accomplishments. This is an Engineering process support position that will focus on data and change management documentation and will not require or involve actual Engineering design work. *Product Structure/Obsolescence - Provide support to new and legacy vehicle development including Product Structure Development, Identify Long Lead components, Identification of Obsolete Components and systems as required. Follow up with documentation for Change Request (CRs), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Government ECPs. Collaborates with Design engineering, Logistic Engineering and Manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Interface with Internal and External customers to resolve hardware, specification software documentation issues.Position Requirements:Minimum requirements include:- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics preferred, from an accredited 4-year university or college.- Must have attained at least a Sophomore status based on the university/college's class standing requirements at start of internship.- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 is preferred- Candidates must be at least 18 years old- Must be a U.S. Person (i.e. a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.)- Candidates must successfully pass standard pre-employment screens and must provide an original transcript from their school before their first day of employment.- Students must be able to complete a minimum of a full time, 3-month assignment- Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills- Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment- Demonstrated effective time management skills- Some travel ( We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, , age, national origin, religion, orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.General Dynamics Land Systems is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
